This means loving our enemies, blessing those who persecute us, and living at peace with everyone. It’s about choosing God’s way over the world’s way, even when it seems counterintuitive. This path requires courage and faith, trusting that God’s ways lead to true life and fulfillment. Just as Andrew Higgins was ready to serve when his country called, we too must be ready to serve wherever God leads us. It’s about having an attitude of availability and willingness, saying “yes” to God before even knowing the question. Serving is not limited to specific talents or gifts but is a posture of the heart, eager to meet the needs of others with joy and abundance. Serving within the church and beyond is not out of obligation but from a place of gratitude for the grace we have received. By serving others, we live out our calling and demonstrate God’s love in tangible ways.

Bible Verse
“If your gift is serving others, serve them well.” —Romans 12:7:

Sermon Quote
“A returned life is always ready to serve.”

Reflection Question
In what ways can I be more available and willing to serve others in my community and church?

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the opportunity to serve others as an expression of my love for You. It is a life that acknowledges the abundant grace given through salvation and seeks to reflect that grace outwardly by serving others and sharing the love of Christ. This concept challenges us to move beyond self-centered living and embrace a mission-centered approach that focuses on what we can do for God and others. The journey of returning to our lives with Jesus at the center involves actively participating in the divine calling to restore, refuel, and return, as outlined in The Harbor's vision. By understanding and embodying this vision, we can begin to comprehend the fullness of a life lived in Christ and how it impacts those around us.

Bible Verse
“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.” —Romans 12:6a

Sermon Quote
“The salvation we receive from Jesus should result in a life that returns for Jesus. The Church is Christ's body, where each part plays a vital role and is essential to the whole. In this interconnectedness, we find strength and unity in Him. Living as if we belong to each other requires us to see beyond our individuality and recognize that we are part of something greater. When we embrace this belonging, we contribute to a vibrant, thriving community where everyone is valued and cherished, by God and by the rest of the body. This sense of belonging not only refuels us but also allows us to be a source of strength and encouragement to others.

Bible Verse
“Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. As humans, we are designed to live in communion with one another and with God. This week’s sermon, the second message in the series Made for More, reminds us that our lives are refueled through relationships, particularly those that draw us closer to Jesus. In a world that often leaves us weary and burdened, seeking refueling is not a solitary journey but one that requires us to engage with others. True refueling comes from relationships that are centered on Christ, where we support and uplift one another. As we embark on this spiritual journey, let us remember that we are not alone, and by seeking genuine connections, we can find the rest and peace our souls crave.

Bible Verse
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”—Genesis 2:18

Sermon Quote
"A life that is refueled will not happen outside of a life that is built on relationship."

Reflection Question
How can I intentionally seek out relationships that will refuel my spirit and bring me closer to Jesus?

Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of relationships and community. Help me to seek out and nurture connections that will refuel my spirit and draw me closer to You. Grant me the wisdom to engage with others in a way that brings honor to Your name. May my life be a reflection of Your love and grace. Just as Jesus was sent by the Father, He sends us into the world to share His love and message. Think about the implications of that. In the same way Jesus was sent. How was He sent? In great humility. As a servant. To suffer. To hang out with, serve, reach, and associate with the poor, the outcast, the marginalized, the mistreated, the oppressed—the worst of the worst of sinners. That’s quite a challenge to hear and receive. It’s daunting. That’s why we must also remember—Jesus was sent with power and authority, filled with the Holy Spirit to bring a message of hope, life, forgiveness, and salvation. This mission is both a privilege and a responsibility, inviting us to live with intentionality and compassion. As we embrace our purpose, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve and make an impact in the lives of others, reflecting Jesus in all we do.

What can the words of Jesus provide for us?

Peace in our circumstances.

Peace for our souls

Purpose in our steps

Bible Verse
"As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you." —John 20:21b

Sermon Quote
"To restore the battered, refuel the weary, and return to your lives with Jesus at the center, changing the world one life at a time."

Reflection Question
How can you live out your God-given purpose in your everyday life?

Prayer
Father, thank You for the purpose You've given me through Jesus. The friends of the paralyzed man did not let discomfort or obstacles deter them from reaching Jesus. Embrace the discomfort, for it is often the precursor to God’s transformative work in our lives.

Bible Verse:
“So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. In Luke 5:17-26, the four friends of the paralyzed man exemplify this expectation. They went to great lengths to bring their friend to Jesus, anticipating a miracle. By expecting the unexplainable, we invite God to work in unexpected ways. This mindset not only elevates our faith but also positions us to witness God's glory in action.

Bible Verse:
“Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, ‘Young man, your sins are forgiven.’” — Luke 5:20

Sermon Quote:
“All I do know is this: they were expecting the unexplainable.”

Reflection Question:
Is there a place in my life where I’ve stopped expecting the unexplainable?

Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes, ears, and heart in expectation – to expect the unexplainable from You and by You. Help me to always be ready to witness Your miracles in my life. In Pastor Jeff’s message on Sunday called “Just One Day”, we are reminded that "one day is only a day when it’s lived without any power." This week, we will explore how to live with expectation, courage, and faith, seeking the power that each day could hold. By adopting a mindset that embraces the unexpected and the uncomfortable, we open ourselves to experiencing God working in our daily lives.

Bible Verse:
“One day…” — Luke 5:17a

Sermon Quote:
“One day might seem pretty insignificant. But it doesn’t take long for us to reflect a little and realize: there’s actually tremendous power in a single day. Days that shape our lives forever.”

Reflection Question:
Do I really believe that each day holds the potential to change my life or the life of someone I love?

Prayer:
Lord, help me to see each day as an opportunity for transformation. Open my heart to the power and possibility that lies in the ordinary, and grant me the wisdom to live each day with purpose and expectation. Amen.

<a class="sp-button" href="/contact" target="_blank" data-label="Questions?
