In the Jewish tradition, the engagement period was a time of preparation and anticipation. The groom would return to his father’s house to prepare a home for his bride, a process that could take up to a year. Similarly, Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us, His Church. This preparation period is not just about waiting; it is an active time of spiritual growth, purity, and readiness. As believers, we are called to live in a way that reflects our readiness for His return, nurturing our relationship with Christ and embodying His love and grace in our lives.
