I'm Fine - Day 1 of 5

Day 1: The Illusion of "I'm Fine"

Five-day devotional based on the message, "I'm Fine" by Discipleship Pastor Ryan Akers on June 1, 2025. Click here to watch the video.

Devotional:
In today’s world, saying “I’m fine” has become a reflex, masking our true feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed. The sermon reminds us that this facade is a common lie we tell ourselves and others. The reality is that God sometimes allows us to experience more than we can handle, which serves as an invitation to depend on Him and others for support. The culture of busyness has turned into a status symbol, but God calls us to release our burdens and prioritize what truly matters.

Bible Verse:
"Where am I supposed to get meat for all these people? They keep whining to me, saying, ‘Give us meat to eat!’ I can’t carry all these people by myself! The load is far too heavy!" –
Numbers 11:13-14

Reflection Question:
When you say "I'm fine," what emotions are you really feeling underneath?

Sermon Quote:
“When we believe God won’t give us more than we can handle then that tempts us to say to ourselves, ‘Suck it up, work harder. Stop being so weak.’”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to see beyond the lie of “I’m fine” and acknowledge when I am overwhelmed. Teach me to lean on You and the community around me, trusting that You will guide me through life’s burdens. Amen.
