Devotional
Forgiveness is a command from God, not an option, and it plays a crucial role in our spiritual and emotional well-being. When we harbor unforgiveness, it leads to bitterness and anger, affecting our relationship with God and others. Forgiveness is not dependent on the offender's actions but is a choice we make to release the hold of resentment. By forgiving, we free ourselves of the burden we have been carrying, and we reflect God's grace and mercy, acknowledging the forgiveness we have received through Christ. This act of grace can transform our hearts and lead us to experience God's true peace and freedom.

Bible Verse
“Make allowances for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” — Colossians 3:13

Reflection Question
Who do you need to forgive today to release bitterness and embrace God's peace?

Sermon Quote
“Forgiving someone is not conditioned upon the offending party seeking your forgiveness. Ever been there, “I’m not gonna forgive them unless they come to me and admit they screwed up.” First, that gives them the power over whether we experience freedom in our life, and the truth is that power isn’t theirs to wield. And if you give them that power, and they never come asking for forgiveness where does that leave you? With agita (heartburn), that’s where."

Prayer
Lord, grant me the strength to forgive as You have forgiven me. Help me let go of any bitterness and embrace the freedom that comes with forgiveness. May Your love flow through me to those who have hurt me. Amen.
