Meaning in Money
King Solomon, who wrote the book we are studying in this series, Ecclesiastes, was most likely the wealthiest man to ever live. He had it all. Everything money could buy, he had it. And yet he writes this in Ecclesiastes 5:10-11, 15:
“Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!…We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us."
There is nothing inherently wrong with money. There's nothing wrong with even having lots of money. The problem is when money has us, when we long for it and believe that it can provide us with happiness and meaning. But while money can never provide me with meaning, I can find a meaning in money. Watch this message to find out how.
