In our world of competing priorities, it's easy to let important relationships slip out of proper order. God's design for marriage includes a clear hierarchy of relationships: God first, spouse second, and all others following after. This isn't about neglecting other relationships but about honoring the unique covenant of marriage. When we maintain this proper order, every relationship benefits. Children feel secure seeing their parents' strong marriage, friendships are enriched by healthy boundaries, and our relationship with God deepens as we honor His design. This priority system isn't meant to restrict us but to protect and nurture the sacred bond of marriage.
