Day 5: Deep Intimacy
Five-day devotional based on the message by Pastor Jeff Maness on February 9, 2025. Watch/listen to the full message by clicking here.
Devotional
True intimacy in marriage encompasses far more than physical connection. It's about creating a safe space where both partners can be completely vulnerable - sharing their hopes, fears, dreams, and struggles without fear of judgment. This kind of deep intimacy is built on trust, maintained through honest communication, and protected by appropriate boundaries with others. When we understand and embrace this complete view of intimacy, our marriages can become havens of emotional safety and spiritual growth. It's about being fully known and fully loved, just as we are known and loved by God.
Bible Verse
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 2:5
Reflection Question
What steps can you take to create safer spaces for emotional vulnerability in your relationships?
Quote
True sexual intimacy should be a result of a commitment to relational priority unity and intimacy in a marriage.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me build relationships marked by trust and genuine intimacy. Guide me in creating safe spaces for vulnerability. Amen.
