Day 3: Beyond Physical Pleasure
Five-day devotional based on the message by Pastor Jeff Maness on February 16, 2025. Watch/listen to the full message by clicking here.
Devotional
In our culture, sexuality is often reduced to mere physical pleasure. But God's design goes far deeper. When we understand that sexual intimacy involves not just our bodies, but our emotions, minds, and spirits, we begin to grasp its profound significance. It's a unique bond that creates vulnerability, trust, and connection on multiple levels. This explains why sexual experiences have such lasting impacts on our lives - they're not just physical acts, but deeply spiritual encounters that affect our whole being.
Bible Verse
"Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!" - 1 Corinthians 6:15
Reflection Question
In what ways have you seen sexuality impact more than just the physical aspect of life?
Quote
If sex were only physical, then why decades after someone has been sexually abused, are there still spiritual, emotional, relational, scars and wounds?
Prayer
Father, help us understand the depth and significance of sexual intimacy as You designed it. Guide us to value and protect this gift in all its dimensions. Amen.
